Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

Thankyou for wondering about the safety and healing process for your tattoo! It is important that you as a client take your time in reading these critical aftercare procedures to reassure the quality of your precious art piece as you leave the gates!

After your appointment, you will need to take care of your tattoo as it heals to ensure your safety.

If you're taking the time to tend and care for your tattoo you can see the difference of your tattoo healing properly as oppose to appearing poor.

This means you should buy the quality of products for a high quality piece.

* Please take a look at the "DO's & DON'TS" listed below. *

Recomended Aftercare Product

  • When you arrive home, it is important you remove the initial plastic wrap administered from the appointment with clean hands  at all times to prevent yourself from touching the tattoo, this is now an open wound that is exposed to all bacteria!

  • When you take a shower and for each wash it is critical to clean the tattoo and don't allow the water to make contact with the tattoo directly. Instead allow the water to roll over other parts and gently wash the tattoo and surrounding area with soap (recommended After Care Products) in body temperature water.

  • When you exit the shower it is important you pat dry your tattoo with a clean paper towel, as for friction with a towel can harm yourself and cause bacteria to enter the site of the tattoo from the used towel.

  • Once the tattoo is pat dried, apply a thin layer of unscented Lubriderm lotion or  A&D ointment over the tattoo as a little pea-sized amount goes a long way. You no longer need your tattoo wrapped it is best to now air dry your tattoo and allow it to go through the healing phases!

  • Make sure to allow the tattoo to air dry and wear loose clothing during the healing process, tight clothing can prevent proper healing and trap bacteria causing complications for the piece!

  • If your tattoo has some swelling, pussing or discoloration contact your doctor or local physicians office to seek medical attention.

  • Allow your tattoo to be exposed to direct prolonged exposure to sunlight.  As it is safe to assume if we can become burned and darkened from the sun so can your tattoo!

  • It is VERY important you only clean your tattoo as needed, overusing and overcleaning your piece can cause more harm than appropriate healing! It can cause clogged healing tissue, healed with infections trapped within the scabbing and extremely unhygenic using the poor quality of products! THIS IS UNSANITARY!

  • Avoid the gym and swimming pools for at least 2 1/2 weeks, the gym is filthy and full of bacteria and pathogens that can travel into your tattoo.

  • Avoid going to the beach! The beach is a dangerous environment for freshly tattoo’d individuals, there is nothing sanitary or clean for your tatoo there!

  • Don't rest your tattoo on surfaces, we have to be mindful it is dirty.

  • Itch or pick off scabs of the tattoo, that is the natural source of your body doing it's process of healing!

  • Touch your tattoo

  • Allow pet hair or dander get on your tattoo.

  • Wear tight clothing.

  • Cover your tattoo with plastic wrap, or other types of coverings, this is absolutely unsanitary and is continuing to trap moisture and bacteria !
